China shuts out Cradle of Filth

Cradle-of-Filth-Making-of-LI-Vlad-Barin2Britannias proudest and truest contribution to black metal, Cradle of Filth have released the following statement regarding their upcoming gig in China.

Unfortunately, at this time, the the cultural section of the Chinese government have decided that Cradle of Filth are unsuitable to play in mainland China and so we are currently banned from playing there. Therefore, the show on Tuesday 30 April in Shang Hai, China at MAO Live House has had to be moved to Hong Kong. The new venue is Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC) in Hong Kong on April 30th. Hope to see you there!

The band is not known for being rather low key, but being shut out from China must still be seen as the bands biggest achievement yet. While more or less being known for their explicit lyrics, videos and t-shirts through the 90:s into the 2000, using satanic imagery with horror movie inspired comedy. This event is not only surprising but also odd, nowadays when nothing in the music industry seem to be able to start controversy, Cradle of Filth take the top runner’s position and gets banned from one of the worlds leading economies. Congratulations!
