EMI + Universal = Can be true

The economic crisis that has emerged in the recent years has not really spared anyone. With the record industry reduced in precarious conditions to say the least, two important majors like EMI and Universal, in order to meet the crisis, are ready to unite, to create a single and large entities.
In favor of the merger between the two houses,  a number of independent record companies active in the market have also expressed themselves, including Daniel Miller of Mute, Laurence Bell, Gates of the PIAS  and not least Palumbo of the Ministry of Sound. According to Miller, the union of Universal and EMI will be a blessing for the independent market, the same view has also Laurence Bell. An entirely different opinion has Martin Mills of Beggars, assuming that the merger will make it even harder distribution for smaller labels.
